The bi-lateral Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamadtrade in between Thailand and Malaysia has increased by almost 12% in between 2017-2018 said by Thailand Datuk Jojie Samuel, the Malaysian ambassador. For this year, from January till August, the value of trade in between Malaysia and Thailand is RM75.59 billion. This is an increment of 12% in comparison to the same period between January and August in the year 2017.
In the year January till August, the value of the entire trade in between Malaysia and Thailand has been RM64.15 billion. Samuel also says that the investment of Malaysia in Thailand last year has been RM9.51 billion with more than 1,000 Malaysian companies operating in the country especially in banking, aviation, and manufacturing sectors.
The primary Malaysian stake holders in the economy of the state include RHB Bank, CIMB, Petronas, and Air Asia.
What is important regarding the terms of the effort is to assist and then help out Thailand to develop a peaceful environment over there. This will surely increase the confidence of the businessman, the investors, and the prime minister as Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, the Prime Minister have mentioned previously said that they are honest broker and they are checking out how they will be able to resolve the problem in Southern Thailand in an amicable manner between both the sides.
