Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is contesting for the parliament seat of Port Dickson and the Malaysians are looking forward to a whole new tourist destination. At one point of time, Port Dickson has been a popular holiday destination. However, it has lost its charm because of poverty, pollution, abandoned buildings, and drugs.
The beaches marred by crap and the decaying half-done building with graffiti have spoilt Port Dickson as the weekend getaway destination. Nonetheless, since Anwar has revealed some of his election manifesto during the launch of the operation center of Pakatan Haratan for the polls of Port Dickson only last week, the locals can expect some significant change to take place in the area.
Anwar is considered by many to be the next prime minister had been serious when he spoke about giving a new life to Port Dickson. The work of cleaning up Singapore River which had been the dirtiest in the country, in less than ten years by Lee Kuan Yew, the late founding father of Singapore, as cited by Anwar.
He says that he is not that kind. If someone throws plastic, they are going to be punished as they want to clean up the beaches. Also, they will ask the big companies to pump new sand on beaches so that are able to have clean beaches.
As the administration of Negri Sembilan was taken over by Pakatan Harapan from the grip of Barisan Nasional for the first time since the year 1957, Mentri Besar Aminuddin Harun stated that the state government is going to make sure that the resort beaches are cleaned by 8am on every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to ensure that the state is clean, cooperative, and also prosperous.
Anwar has also promised that he will continue to rejuvenate the beaches of Port Dickson.
