PKR has come to accept the dispute in the results of the election in Penang just after the state races had been cleared out by the election commission of the party (JPP) as per the statement of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the PKR president-elect.
According to him, JPP had conducted an audit for ascertaining the integrity of the election system after the technical problems had been reported with the new system of e-voting which had been used for conducting the election of 2018.
Anwar has stated that they have identified the weaknesses by JPP which includes the process of election. These have been fixed and are going to be implemented in the Johor election of 30th September. Last Saturday, Ismail Yusop, the PKR JPP Secretary of Penang have announced the official election results for around 13 divisions of the state.
Nonetheless, after the report of names of voters and candidates disappearing from the e-ballot system, Dr. Afif Bahardin, the PKR Youth deputy chief has called for the results of the Penang election that was to be canceled and to organize a fresh poll. Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, the secretary-general of PKR has stated that the party will be done with the election by early November. They will complete the Perak, Kedah, and Perlis polls by the November. They have to check out the logistics and equipment. In case something has to be added, they will add. They have learned a lesson and they will try to improve.
