Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has challenged the ones who questioned him about his eligibility to contest the forced by-election of Port Dickson, irrespective of the royal pardon for fighting him at the ballot box rather than taking the entire matter to the court. While speaking at the ceramah in Bandar Springhill, Anwar accused the critics of making attempts to hold him back from politics.
Anwar ask them why take this in court. He tells them to fight him there. Anwar confidently tells the voters at ceramah to ask the people of Port Dickson if they support him or not. This comes after Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan, the PAS secretary-general said that Anwar didn’t have ‘free pardon’ that will allow him to contest the by-election.
However, his pardon is also being questioned by the public members. Anwar is still going to face five independent candidates. A Port Dickson voter is also known to have filed a motion in the High Court of Kuala Lumpur that the pardon that Anwar has secured from Yang di-Pertuan Agong had been defective since the Pardons Board hadn’t convened prior to the pardon being granted.
Anwar has accused the voters of making attempts to undermine his position. He says that this keeps going on with some story or the other. They have struggled for more than 20 years and they still want to hold them back. They have to answer again in court. They say that Agong had been wrong and it isn’t a free signed freedom. It is just to keep him from contesting.
However, since it has been brought to court, it is necessary to fight in court. He has been there for four months and has suffered for so long and yet they want to hold him back. It was also reported that Anwar was asking why he cannot be in parliament unlike the other Pakatan Harapan leaders.
