Only fate will decide whether Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim succeeds in becoming the next prime minister, says PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin.
Anyone can make promises but it would be up to Allah, said the Vice President of PKR – Zuraida kamaruddin.
Everything is predestined (qada and qadar) by Allah.
“But, I believe that every individual needs to work to gain trust. We see sincerity and efforts.
It will make the dreams come true,” Zuraida commented on the skeptical remarks from the public on the appointment of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the Prime Minister although Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has repeatedly said that he will fulfill his promise.
Zuraida who is also the Vice-President of PKR admitted that the supporters of the party truly fought for Anwar to be the Prime Minister during the age of Reformation.
However, she also said that the political landscape has changed now.
Ms. Zuraida also called on Mr. Anwar to show a “big heart” if he aspires to become the eighth prime minister.
She said a person aspiring to be the number one leader of the country should not reject a simple request to hold a reconciliation meeting with elected leaders from his own party.
She also shared that Dr. Mahathir agreed to be chosen as the seventh Prime Minister after the 14th General Election as Anwar needed to get out of the prison, to be pardoned and such.
When asked if Anwar has shown sincerity and efforts to be a Prime Minister, Zuraida said that anyone who wants that position will definitely show their earnestness.
However, it will be judged by the people and not himself.
According to Zuraida, the perception is not true as Anwar has become the President of PKR without contest. It shows that the leadership of the party is ready to accept him as the leader of the party.
Zuraida also did not deny that she is critical about the ways an individual do their work and make decisions. However, she also respects the differences.
