More than 54000 members of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat or the PKR Sarawak are registered and most of them are rooting for Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, who is now the Minister of Economic Affairs, to be elected as the next national deputy president of the party. Azmin is also known to be former Selangor Menteri Besar and expectations are more for him to win the post of PKR deputy president. Most of the voters from the party are confident of the fact that majority of the voters from Sabah PKR party will cast their votes for Azmin Ali.
It was also thought that if the vote depends on the Sarawak PKR then also there are more chances of Azmin to win the post because Azmin has always been the center of attraction for the party and also for its members. And so the members are more confident of his win for the post of deputy president. The votes of Sabah and Sarawak will determine who will ultimately win the post, whether it is Azmin or Rafizi as the last lap of votes will happen in these two states. Most of the states have completed with their votes which shows that Azmin is much ahead of his rival, Rafizi.
It can be said by seeing at the unofficial results which have been posted that Azmin is heading towards the position of deputy president of PKR.
PKR has more than 800,000 members who are registered all over the nation and so the voting process for the post will take a while to be completed and to know who wins the race. The party is using the tagline, ‘one member, one vote’ principle for the process according to the PKR information chief. It was also stated by him that the e-voting process for the election will be held for office-bearers at the national level and it will also follow the same principle.
