The study being organized on the direction of the East Coast Railway Line project whether to proceed or not is going to be determined in near future as said by Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, the Economic Affairs Minister. He stated that the Cabinet discussed the project and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the Prime Minister had asked to be given more time so that they can look into the sustainability of ECRL.
In the East Coast Railway Line, you need to look if the project will be able to create value and offer benefits to the people in a certain economic situation that is untenable at present as stated by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in the meeting with Kelantan state PKR leaders.
Mohamed Azmin has mentioned that they are considering the directions of the project since its implementation previously wasn’t transparent for instance, the quantum paid out when the project didn’t even start. About RM20 billion had been paid out already when the progress of the project was yet at the minimum level and was something that was to be invested on.
The earlier Barisan Nasional Government had announced the cost of the ECRL project that links Kelantan-Terengganu-Pahang with Port Klang. In the meantime, on the PKR election at division and central level for the term 2018-2021, Mohamed Azmin, the candidate for the deputy president post for the party, reminded the delegates against being associated in the corrupt practices to elect the leaders.
Even though there are no proof of such practices that is occurring other than the information which is being given out by certain groups, he mentioned that strict actions are going to be taken against the group which is involved with such activities.
Mohamed Azmin said that they plan to build a clean and healthy party with all ethical and noble values. It is necessary to give advice and reminders to people so that the party is able to progress smoothly.
