PETALING JAYA – Cyprus’ President has promised to revoked passport under a controversial cash-for-citizenship program mistakenly granted to several investors including Jho Low.

This after the country came under fire after alleged fugitive Jho Low used the “Golden passport” to purchase his citizenship there.

“We have to admit mistakes, there are instances where passports shouldn’t have been issued.” President Nicos Anastasiades said in a statement. Cyprus has had citizenship for investment plans in place since 2013, under which a minimum of 2 million euro (RM 9.1 million) investment can acquire a passport and visa-free travel to Europe countries.
