According to the survey of an internet speed, Malaysia has become the 26th fastest country of the world. The internet of Malaysia rose to 10 spots from last month and reached the 26th spot with an average speed of 61.97 Mbps. The Speedtest Global Index acknowledged the result which was declared by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
It can be determined from the results that most of the Malaysians can now enjoy higher speed of the internet significantly. The government have also met with the promise that it made to reduce the high speed broadband prices which was fixed earlier, by near about 25% by the end of the year 2018. The prices of the entry-level packages has been added to it which also reduced by almost 30%.
Chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, Al-Ishsal Ishak, said that the credit should go to the Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Gobind Singh Deo, for prioritizing the talked about issue after he took over the office in the month of May in the current year. It was declared by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia that he wanted local telcos for increasing the speed of the broadband internet that can otherwise reduce the price at the same rate at the beginning of his term for serving as the Minister.
Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission will definitely go on with the monitoring of the offering by the telcos to ensure that the consumers were given the high quality service and reasonable prices in the long term.
