Tonight, the Port Dickson by-election frontrunner Tan Sri Isa Samad is going to conduct solat hajat after 13 days of serious campaigning that ends tomorrow midnight. Isa who will contest as the independent candidate is going to be at 3 Teluk Kemang of Surau Rumah Rakyat Peringkat.
If the size of the congregation is going to be a yardstick for determining the support of the candidates has is quite questionable but most of the local residents seem to feel that it is going to be an indicator. Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president and Tan Sri Rais Yatim, the leaders are going to prayer with Anwar but Isa doesn’t want such big names to tag along.
Isa’s campaign has been low-profile but had been bolstered just one day ago when Mohd Faizal Ramli, the Umno division chief of Port Dickson offered some 13,000 members the freedom to vote since Barisan Nasional is going to stay out of the by-election. The campaigners of Isa are going to take this as a bonus. PAS’ Lt Kol (R) Mohd Nazari Mokhtar is on the campaign journey with the election machinery of the party patiently and slowly meeting up with the voters without the grand fanfare.
The other candidates Stevie Chan Keng Leong, Mohd Saiful Bukhari, Kan Chee Yuen, Lau Seck Yan had been seen campaign in their own manner that hasn’t affected the standing of Isa who is the frontrunner in the race.
