The Japanese government along with the higher education ministry is pretty serious about the proposal by the Malaysian government for any of the universities in Japan to start branches there. Dr. Makio Miyagawa, the Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia said that till date, no Japanese University has set up branches outside the country and Malaysia might be the first one with such a branch.
He said that their universities have been contributing to academics just inside Japan and hasn’t made an attempt to set up branches outside the country. Makio has also stated in case any Japan universities have set up branch in Malaysia as it had been requested by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, it is going to be the first branch to set up outside their country.
He had been speaking to the reporters after the Universiti Selangor’s 13th ceremony at Bestari Jaya campus. In the month of June, this year, Unisel graduates have been conferred scrolls at the degree, masters, doctorate, and diploma levels at the 3-day ceremony which started today.
