PUTRAJAYA – Malaysia lends a helping hand to China as 18 million pieces of medical gloves will be shipped out to China to help fight against the novel coronavirus (2019-nCov) epidemic.

Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok said that the Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council and the rubber gloves manufacturers in Malaysia have pledged 18 million pieces of medical gloves to Wuhan with the first shipment already on its way to Wuhan.

Malaysia is the world’s largest producer of medical gloves. In 2014, Malaysia sent more than 20 million medical rubber gloves to Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Nigeria and Congo to assist in the fight against Ebola virus.

The RMN has targeted at least 3/4 of its vessels to be in working condition at all times.
