PETALING JAYA – Eight medical professionals from China have arrived in Malaysia to help the country in managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chinese ambassador to Malaysia, Bai Tian confirmed that the team of experts was organized by the National Health Commission of China and will be headed by Dr. Li Jun, chief physician of the Integrated Chinese and Western Emergency Medicine and VP of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
“Some of them had joined the fight against COVID-19 in Hubei Province, they specialized in such as respiratory, intensive care, psychiatry, infectious diseases, data analysis, virology, and traditional Chinese medicine.”
Bai Tian added that the team’s arrival symbolized the great partnership between China and Malaysia.
The medical experts will be in Malaysia for two weeks in which they will share information, provide technical guidance and share their experience in epidemic prevention control with the Health Ministry and medical staff from all over Malaysia. “The virus knows no borders, making this a common battle for all humankind. We need to be united to combat the virus effectively.” Bai Tian added.
