THE HAGUE – A team of investigators looking into the shooting down of a Malaysia Airlines has released new recordings of intercepted phone calls that show separatist leaders in Ukraine requesting military to top Russian officials.

The released recordings allegedly include Vladislav Surkov, a political aide to Vladimir Putin. It shows how Russian political and military officials control over the day-to-day policy and operations in separatist-held Ukraine. Russian officials and rebels used secure communications that may have provided by Russian security service FSB. Flight MH17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine on 17 July 2014 while flying between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur. All 283 passengers and 15 crew were killed in the crash.
