KUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak took a final swing at fugitive financier Low Taek Jho on his last day on the stand at the SRC International trial.
The former prime minister said that Jho Low convinced him the he had special relationship with the Saudis that could be beneficial when dealing with them. The said good relationship with the Saudis allegedly yielded several “donations” to Najib’s bank accounts.
“Jho Low was representing Saudi Arabia at the time. He appears to be closer than the Malaysian side.” Najib added.
The Pekan MP denied misappropriating RM42mil from the company’s funds saying he had no knowledge that the funds deposited into his account was from SRC International.
He then blamed Jho Low that he transferred the money as “cover up” so he (Najib) would not find out.
Najib is facing seven charges of abusing his position for gratification, criminal breach of trust and money laundering totalling RM42mil of SRC International funds.
