A pro-Anwar veterans group, known as Otai Reformasi, stated that there are some members within the party who do not want their leader Anwar Ibrahim to be the Prime Minister of the country in the upcoming years. The chairman of the group Dr. Idris Ahmad said that it was very clear that his own team members did not want the leader to become the Prime Minister of the country; they wanted to seize power from him.
Otai Reformasi shall take strict action against those who deliberately performs actions to prevent Ibrahim form being in power as the Prime Minister. Dr Ibrahim is also the Ijok assembly man and the federal territories leadership council chairman of Parti Keadilan Rakyat. When asked to specifically mention the people whom they suspect he casual said that it was clear from the recent social media posting including one from a minister.
Dr. Idris also said that PKR is known for being Pro-Anwara and Otai Reformasi is a non-political movement by a group of enthusiastic citizens for institutional reformation after Datuk Seri Anwar was dismissed as the deputy Prime Minister. At present the Otai Reformasi comprises of several political parties including Democratic Action Party Parti Keadilan Rakyat, Parti Amanah Negara and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu)
Datuk Saifuddin who is the foreign affairs minister said that Mr. Anwar would be appointed after Dr Mahathir steps down as the prime minister. Mr. Anwar in a social media post after an hour long meeting with the Prime Minister in Putrajaya, said that Mr. Mahathir must be given time to carry out his roles in the assigned time frame. A game of acquiring power is very clearly noticeable. Rafizi Ramili the former Pandan MP is among those to be appointed by the council.
