According to chief minister Chow Kon Yeow, the Penang government will only settle for accord with stakeholders affected by the Penang Sea Reclamation project.
For the remaining quarters, he told that they were free to provide opinions that will be taken into consideration by the government.
While speaking at a press briefing following his attendance at the 2019 World Seafood Congress he said, “ we will deal with only those impacted which will be a better way. Our target is to deal with stakeholders who are facing consequences. Negotiations and discussions will be held with concerned stakeholders, whereas other NGO’s could provide opinions and the government will take into account.”
He added, “ State Exco official Dr Afif Bahardin will organize a meet with fishermen association after the talks on package for consolation, “ while talking about the world Seafood congress attended by him. It is a three-day Congress, inaugurated by the Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister, Sim Tze Tzing.
The state government plans to build at least 3 artificial islands within the stretch of South of Penang International Airport to East upto Permatang Damar Laut which would to an extent fund the Penang Transport Master Plan which is a government owned project approximate expenditure of 46 billion RM.
