The participation of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the by-election of Port Dickson has negated the voted fatigue from 9th May with a turnout that surpassed the 50% mark at around 3pm. As a matter of fact, this is the first by-election which has breached the level since the time of 14 the general election to take place on 9th mat. There is just 2 hours of voting left.
In Sungai Kandis, there was a turnout of 49%. Again in the concurrent Seri Setia and Balakong by-election, the turn-out had even been lower. It reached to just 43% and 44% respectively.
Previously, Pakatan Harapan had targeted 60% turnout for the day but it is highly likely that it is going to miss the figure. Anwar is contesting against 6 other candidates in the by-election of today which triggered for him for contesting as a significant part of the political comeback.
