PETALING JAYA – As a head of the government, Dr Mahathir Mohamad must take responsibility over Pakatan Harapan’s defeat in the five of ten GE14 by-elections including Kimanis in Sabah, says Bukit Gelugor lawmaker Ramkarpal Singh
Ramkarpal said that the loss is indicative of weakening support for the party since the 14th General Election and that the prime minister’s statement about being open to working with anyone does not inspire confidence.
“This does not inspire confidence in Pakatan’s commitment to real reforms, the platform that help them unseat Barisan Nasional after 61 years in power.” He said in a statement.
The Bukit Gelugor lawmaker also pointed out the infighting in the party also creates tension and can be destructive to Pakatan if not dealt urgently.
“The survival of Pakatan must be the priority as we can’t afford to lose further support for the coalition.” He added.
