The overwhelming victory of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in by-election of Port Dickson shows the growing support from the voters of all races for Pakatan Harapan, the ruling party, according to Datuk Seri Azmin Ali. The Economic Affairs Minister is known to have thanked the voters of Port Dickson for casting their votes in support of the president-elect of the party, Anwar.
He also says that he would like to thank the voters of Port Dickson for strengthening and supporting the Pakatan Harapan government while displaying support for the leadership of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the Prime Minister. This is a pretty unique victory as it has secured it support from all the Port Dickson races and it signifies that new voting trend and the confidence that the public has on the government.
Azmin, the PKR deputy president is fighting for the defending his own position against the strategist of the party and also Rafizi Ramli, the former Pandan MP. When he was asked to comment on the PKR leadership election of Selangor which took place, Azmin just asked people to respect the due process. The members of Selangor male up the largest base of the party throughout the nation. Pundits are of the opinion that Azmin is going to retake the lead from Rafizi who is Terengganu born in the home ground. Nonetheless, there might be hiccups as 2 out of 22 divisions in Selangor is known to have voiced support for Rafizi.
