Mohamed Azmin Ali, the PKR deputy president is ahead of his challengers Rafizi Ramli in the battle for the number 2 spot in party polls as per the results which had been posted on the party website.
Rafizi has taken the lead in 6 states, Pahang, Kelatan, Melaka, Terenggany, Perlis, Negeri Sembilan and the Federal Territory in Kuala Lumpur was 1,186 votes less than Azmin as of last night after the voting in Perlis and also 7 divisions in Selangor.
Azmin, the economic affairs have secured 38,228 votes while Rafizi obtained 37,042. The votes comprise of final tally in 5 states such as Johor, Penang, Kelatan, Terengganu, and Pahang along with the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.
In 16 divisions, dubious votes in Melaka, Selangor, Perlis, and Negeri Sembilan are being processed as the results are yet to be finalized. Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, the state PKR chairman in Melaka have reportedly said that 200 digital ballot papers have gone missing from 5 of 6 divisions and the Central Election Committee has been investigating the matter.
The votes in Negeri Sembilan from Jelebuu division are yet to be counted because of a technical problem. When you contact, the CEC deputy chairman Adzman Hedra have said that the initial probe has showed that the missing ballot papers is because of the poor internet access in the time of the polls. He has said that they knew this when the QR code screening by members didn’t match the total number of votes which came in. The technical division of the committee is trying to trace the voters, he has added.
The election in Kedah is going to be held on 26th and 27th Octobers, on 3rd and 4th November at Sabah, and on 10th November on Sarawak. The polls in the rest of the 6 divisions of Selangor are going to be held on 28th October.
