PUTRAJAYA: Over the show-cause letter issue, PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin has shot back at Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail for calling on her to be “calm”.

The secretary-general asked me to be ‘tenang‘ (calm).

“I am calm. I was with the party at its lowest in 2004, and I stuck with it. But he (Saifuddin) ran away back then.

“So I’m calm. He’s the one who isn’t calm,” said the Housing and Local Government Minister to reporters after attending her ministry’s monthly assembly here on Tuesday (Jan 21).

It was reported that Saifuddin said Zuraida should stay calm and remain focus on responding to the show-cause letter issued to her by PKR’s disciplinary board on Jan 17.

The disciplinary action against her was related to her fiery speech at the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 dinner on Dec 8 in Kuala Lumpur, which was highly critical of the party leadership.

When asked when she expected to respond to the letter, Zuraida said: “I have been given 14 days to respond to it. So I’ll do it by then, Insyallah.”
