KUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has asked the High Court to postpone his trial, scheduled to begin on Monday (Nov 18), for the alleged tampering with 1MDB audit report.
“My appointed legal representatives require time,” Najib said in his affidavit
He also added that his defense was also engaged in the preparation of his 1MDB corruption trial and the adjournment was necessary in order to guarantee his right to a fair trial.
The trial dates were fixed from Nov 18 to 29, and Jan 13 to 17, next year. Najib, 66, who is currently facing dozens of criminal charges involving RM2.3bil from 1MDB funds.
